The Bitcoin Casino is Closed. Now What?

If you bought Bitcoin 2 years ago, you’d be up 6%.

If you bought the S&P 500 2 years ago, you’re up 33%.

I am starting to think the “hypergrowth” days of Bitcoin are over. You can’t just buy it and “hodl”. You now just need to hodl on as it trades sideways and sometimes has violent moves but ends up back in the same spot.

In a bizarre twist, I think stablecoins will actually be useful and accepted in mainstream society. They replace Western Union and international money transfers.

Just a footnote to this thought:

  • Microstrategy (MSTR) is a leveraged play on Bitcoin. It’s down 68% in a year.
  • And Harvest Strategy High Income Shares (MSTE) is a leveraged play on Microstrategy. It’s down 83% in a year.
