Maybe I Don’t Have the Guts for This
The other day, I bought some Intel. It currently represents about 1.5% of my investment assets.
Tonight, Intel reported horrible, terrible, awful earnings. Net income down 22%. The stock will be down tomorrow.
I saw a guy on YouTube suggest that Intel could (possibly) cut its dividend.
This has me second-guessing myself. I spent a lot of time researching Intel. I looked at the numbers. I watched a lot of videos of people doing value analysis. I did the math. Everything I saw said it was undervalued.

It turns out that the stock may be overvalued.
The stock is at $36.70 in after-hours trading. Down 8.3%.
I hate this feeling. I might as well be honest and get it out in the open. This feeling of investing a significant amount of money and then seeing even 8% of it evaporate overnight is awful. I hate it.
I might just have to go back to ETFs.
I think I am pretty confident in the major tech companies being quick to recover once they get past this bad news. Look at Amazon today – up big after reporting strong earnings. Big tech will, in general, do great.
But companies like Intel are out there. Netflix is out there. Once high-flyers and no guarantee that they’ll return to their past glory.
Today I sold NIO and GBTC. They were both in profit! So I’ll take that. But my risk appetite for individual stocks right now is starting to drop.
