The Siren Call of T-Bills
As I sometimes do on this blog, I added my cash (in checking accounts) and interest-paying investments.
Do you want to guess what percentage of my overall investment assets is?
No cheating. I track my percentage cash on my goals page. But I don’t count my GIC investment, money market, or short-term bond funds as cash. Those three things count as being invested in the market.
But if you add pure cash to the “short-term safe money investments”, it’s way too conservative still.
54% of my investable assets are in bonds or cash.
I need to get that number down to 25%. I still don’t know what to invest in. Index funds? Dividend stocks? Real assets?
That’s been my problem for two years.
