Latest Investment Mix, January 2024

Before today, my investment mix was:

  • Index Funds – 42.5% (goal 50%)
  • Individual Stocks – 4.5% (goal 5%)
  • High Div ETFs – 16% (goal 25%)
  • Bond ETFs – 4.5% (goal 10%)
  • Cash/Money Markets – 33% (goal 15%)

In the last post, I talked about selling off some of the money market funds to buy indexes. I also had planned to use some of the cash outside investing, and that was done. As a result, the cash I hold is now significantly less than it was. And perhaps the lowest that it’s been in a long time.

I have basically reached my investment mix goals! Since one of the recent Index Funds I purchased (VGRO) is actually an 80/20 mix fund, I might even be able to consider the bond goal reached.

I’m almost ready to hang the “mission accomplished” banner.

My current investment mix is as follows:

  • Index Funds – 53.5% (goal 50%)
  • Individual Stocks – 5.0% (goal 5%)
  • High Div ETFs – 20.2% (goal 25%)
  • Bond ETFs – 5.0% (goal 10%)
  • Cash/Money Markets – 16.2% (goal 15%)
