The Mysterious Brain

I woke up this morning early. Early for me, that is.

My dog woke me up at 6am, and I couldn’t fall back asleep after. So I doom scrolled on my phone until 7am, and finally got out of bed and started working.

Now I know most people wake up at 6am, 7am, 8am to go to work. In my whole working career until my last job, I never woke up that early.

Two important ideas popped into my head at that early hour.

One was the solution to a problem that had been bothering me for months. This problem has been costing me thousands of dollars per month. And then suddenly… I knew how to solve it. I sent an email to my contact at a company I’ve worked with before, and they set it up. By the end of today, I had the problem solved. Will save me thousands of dollars per month.

And the other was an insight on how I could free up “a lot of money” that is currently trapped inside one of my companies. That may sound strange, but whenever you pull money out of a company, you pay personal tax on it. So many people keep money inside their companies for as long as they can, to avoid paying the personal tax.

I mean, Apple essentially kept $100’s of BILLIONS in an offshore bank account and borrowed $100s of BILLIONS of debt inside the United States, to avoid paying tax on that money. Same thing happens even for smaller companies.

But now I understand how I can get that money out for the lowest amount of tax. I will still send a big check to the government, so it’s not tax free. But I don’t mind paying some tax. Just don’t want to pay maximum tax. And I have figured that out.

Great day for my subconscious mind solving these little problems. I need to find more problems for it to solve!
